When you go to join server at the server list page it has Source
Internet ACTVI
This is Activisions server list
Internet CoD4x
This is Cod4x server list
The Token you added in the server config let’s your server be listed in the Internet CoD4x server list
So if the Internet ACTVI server list is down you will still be visible on the Cod4x server list and vice versa.

I was able to create a clan but I still don’t know what it’s for
First if you don’t know what it is for then why create it.
But…
A clan is for a team you create for friends etc to play together, to be recognised as a team
You posted also on a clan tag post.
Once you have created a group in steam you can create clan tags
When you have created clan tags in your steam group go into your cod4x ingame settings:
Options > Game Options > Clan Tags
It should say None
If you have set it up correctly then pressing none should change it to the tags you have created in steam.
This clan tag will be displayed in front of your ingame name on the scoreboard etc.
