My vps crashed when I went to start the COD4 server, it doesn’t start with a mod just like Cod4host. I’ve tried everything if anyone can help me I’d be grateful!!!
Does it start without the mod? You can check in mods\modname\qconsole.log for errors and address those errors.

after the log that it just shutdown for no reason i cant start the server fully. i’m not sure what to do. any help would be helpful
The log tells you what the issue is:
fs_basepath is write protected.
fs_homepath is write protected.
fs_game is write protected.
The game cannot create or write to logs, it will auto-kill itself for that.
Ensure that the user running the server has read/write access the above paths.
i tried everytihng including redownlloading cod4 on different harddrive and mods and files are still protected even going into security tab and chaning owner and permissions and changing it. but nothing works
If you try running the server without the bat file what happens?:

Note: I added quotes in the paths intentionally to not confuse the binary, since there are spaces in the path.
the exact same thing happened opens does log then closes at same time.
That would mean your config is no good… make sure the config that came with the mod plus the server.cfg is where it needs to be and settings are not broken.
