Cant start server on windows

1-2 months ago everything was fine today I decided to update the server and now not start.
Error: Failed to load the plugin e:\call of duty 4 - modern warfare\plugin.simplebanlist.tmp!
In the root folder and plugins there is already this simplebanlist, but when run it, it still tries to download them

As far as I am aware you shouldn’t be running a custom build.
When / where did you get that buid from?

What I am getting at is, any chance you have updated one location and your server shortcut points to a different location?

This is not in your directory root thats why it cant load it.

+set fs_game “mods/test”
When I set this I don’t use “”. Don’t know if it makes a difference but it works without the quotes for me

In your command window in your first post is has a line that reads:
Loading the plugin .so…
This as far as I am aware is a linux command. So you have got thewrong version running but I don’t know why when you overwrite the files with the correct version it doesn’t change it.

It worked for me, so I am baffled

Further to the simplebanlist here is some info I have found:

simplebanlist

→ Works like the old banlist but stores playerids which is the new format and replaces GUIDs → Can be used with legacybanlist together → Each server needs its own banlist. Symlinking can broke it sooner or later.

How to use? Make sure banlist.dat is in cod4 root directory. Put into your server.cfg file the line: loadplugin simplebanlist → It will create a file called banlist_v2.dat

I have everything in place by folder. tried and on another server folder to create and in the end nothing works all the same
